Head Start Policy Council

What is Policy Council?

     Head Start Policy Council is composed of currently enrolled parents and community representatives and meets monthly. The Policy Council reviews all grant budgets and policies for the program year. Policy Council is also involved in the yearly program assessment.

     Parent Policy Council representatives are elected by parents from each parent committee. Members are trained on the responsibilities of the Policy Council. Membership on Policy Council is very rewarding. It is a training ground for the development of decision-making, management and leadership skills.Monthly meetings are held at Woodlawn Learning Center in the Media Center.
